Just Plain Weird, Freaked Me Out

Hi everyone, let me start off by telling you a little about my self. I am 23, a New Yorker, born and raised, but I have recentley moved back to the mother land (LOL) sort to speak. I am residing in the Middle East and Yes I am a Muslim, damn proud too, :-). In my religion we believe that there are beings that live in betweens realms so to speak, we call them Jinn whilst you may call them demons or spirits. The were created before mankind and have since roamed the earth in their own plane of existence but they have the ability to traverse through plane. They are generally veiled from our view, but there are those amongst them that choose to be seen,whether it be for malice or foolishness,or just plain stupidity I dont know.

Any way, that was just a little back ground so that you can understand my story.

OK.Here it is...

It was a regular night bout many be a month or so ago, I had fallen asleep early, which I hate doing, cause I dont like getting up in the middle of the night. Anyway, I was just in the waking up phase of sleep when i noticed that the living room T.V. was on. The living room is right in front of my room and the T.V is right in front of my room door, any it was on a prayer channel, reciting verses from the Holy Quran, which is init self soothing.

So I was watching the pictures change on the screen, Pretty flowers and the like, and listening to the recitation, when all of a sudden the television goes out. Now I am right in front of it watching on my bed and I saw nothing move, so I was weirded out of course, but I thought that the electricity went out, a very common occurance in this country, but then I noticed that the night light which is a regualr fixture in all the house in the country was still on, ok I was weirded out even more, cause I was still grogy I thought that it was my mind playing tricks on me, but at that moment the T. V. went on again, and I was like ok, probably just a glitch, so I relaxed a lil, then it happened again, on off, on off, and then I became really creeped out.

So i called out for my older sister to see if she was still up, but she didnt answer, then I called out to her again but this time louder, and thats when I heard it.

It was like a loud exhaling sound that a large animal would make, like the exhaling of a horse. And it began after I called out to my sister, whose room is across the hall. I was really scared because it was coming from the living room, so freaking out I woke up my two younger sisters that sleep in the room with me. I was trying to see if they were making the noise but it wasnt them, trust me i checked, i leaned over and was listening to their breathing, my 21 year old sister woke up and I told her to put the lights on in the room. And she half a sleep did it. Any way, we stayed up all three of us waiting for the t.v to come back on but it didnt for a while, then it cam on and during the waiting several times we heard strange noises coming from the living room. Oh btw the living room has black leather couches in it so when some one sits down you can hear it even if its in the middle of the night. The strange thing is that the t.v would shut off when the recitation took a break and come back on after it returned. What ever it was was seriously messing with us.

Needless to say we didnt sleep until after the call for morning prayer sounded.

Oh btw when you press the t.v. button on and off it makes a little clicking sound, so you can imagine hearing it and not seeing it really scary..

Oh and to add on to this, my sisters told me in the morning that she had heard the heaving breathing but she didnt know what it was. And when we told my sister who sleeps in the other room she told me that a couple of nights before she was up late and she was the only one up, when she kept hearing the glass case of the T.V. stand open and shut, and it also has a distinct clicking sound, so she went to investigate and we she got there she saw nothing, she said well at least i think she told me that she closed the glass door and went to her room, but she heard it again and she went to investigate again , and the glass was open. This time she closed it and went to her room and ignored it or it didnt happen again, any way right before she went to sleep, or as she was sleeping , she remembers hearing heavy breathing right out side her door, and she would hear it cause the head of her bed is like 1 inch away from the door frame, but she played it off as my sister who also shares a room with her, breathing heavily.

When we described it to hear she said it was the same type of sound.

That was the first time anything of that nature happened to us. Thanks for listening, let me know if you have any questions, I will sure to responde. Laterz
