During the early 1990's I moved into a small but pleasant trailer in the Rockvale Trailer Park just south of Janesville, WI. It was modest and a good price and the older couple that lived there before me took great care of it before I moved in. I got the place for a steal of a price because the woman that lived there prior was recently widowed. Apparently, her husband died there peacefully in his sleep while napping in his favorite chair right there in the living room.

Shortly after I moved in, my cat started to act strange. He would stare at one wall and react like someone was there. Sometimes, he would even hiss and run away to hide. Not long after that, I would get the feeling that someone was in the room with me. This progressed to the point where things would come up missing only to reappear on the table that sat along that one wall. Pots and pans started to be "pushed" out of the cupboard where they were stored when no one was in the kitchen. Curtains would be pulled open in the morning when I knew that I had closed them the night before. The strangest was the ever present feeling that someone was there when I knew I was alone at home.

Nothing dangerous or threatening ever happened, but I did get pushed to the point that I was scared on one occasion. The final straw happened about 5 a.m. one Tuesday morning. (I'll never forget that June day!) My boyfriend had just left for work and I rolled over for some extra rest. Just as I was nodding off, I distinctly felt someone sit along the edge of the bed! I was scared stiff and didn't know what to do! Seconds later, the covers were being pulled up and I was being "tucked in"! I had no idea what to do, so I did the only thing that I could think of. I shut my eyes tight, curled up a bit, and said aloud "OK, Grandpa! You're starting to scare me now!" Immediately the "person" got up off the bed and I never felt a presence like that again.

Until I wound up moving from that trailer, there were only a few times that things would come up missing, the cat would stare, or the pots would fall, but never again did I have such a personal incident. It forever made me a true believer!
