Did You Just Call Me?

This is my first written tale of one of the many encounters I've experienced over the last 16 years or so. Five years ago my husband and I bought our first house. Because of previous incidents, we were a little apprehensive about the fact that the elderly lady who previously owned the house had recently died. We were convinced things would be alright because she passed away in a hospital and not on property. However, we did learn that her husband died on the front porch not long after building the house. Our family was already settled in when we learned that, so we stayed put.

I don't remember how long before we started hearing the voices. I do know that at various times over these five years I'll hear my husband call for me, only to answer his call and find out he was outside and I was inside, alone. I've heard my daughter call my name, and my stepson. My husband has come in and asked, "Did you call my name?" when I haven't.

Whatever is here with us doesn't seem "evil" although I have my opinion on who/what is behind it. I do know that other than calling our name it has been seen, mostly by my stepson. He is 18 years old now but doesn't like to be here alone because of the shadow that walks from the kitchen to the hall area. We all joke that it is making its way to the bathroom, and heaven forbid it goes into my 11 year old daughters room because we'd never find it for the mess!

We love our home and are making improvements on it continually. Maybe the prescence doesn't like what we're doing or maybe its just curious. At any rate, as long as we all stay safe we'll just have to deal with the ever present question, "Did you call my name?".
