Could It Be an Evil Spirit?

well it all happend when i was really young. we lived in this small home that my parents had moved in right before i was born. my mom is the type of person that doesn't really believe in spirits until this night. one night my mom was lying in bed and heard three big knocks on the front door. she got awaken by the third knock and it was like 3 in the morning ,and if you are aware weird things usually happen at that time. so anyways me, my brother, and sister were all laying in my sister's bed whenever my mom had heard the knocks. we were sleeping .and then when my mom got out of the bed after the third bang on the door she went to the door to look into the peep hole ,and right before she did that she felt like an evil presence come into the house .(she and my dad are really religious also),and it travelled down the hall way into my sister's room where we were all sleeping, and she said you better get away from my babies! out of anger and she looked at the head board against the bed where we were sleeping and she said it knocked 3 times by itself. freaky huh? so she took holy water and blessed the whole house and whatever it was it went away.

my sister one time saw a women in black standing over her a few times that happend. and also my brother saw a woman in his room. and i use to hear foot steps down the hallway. and 1 week before we moved out of the house my parents started experiencing things. we don't live there anymore. what you think it could have been?
