Possible Civil War Ghosts

When I first moved to Stafford, our house was still being built. There is a stream behind my house, and I heard the soldiers followed streams back in the civil war. Since Stafford lies between Fredericksburg and Manassas (where 2 big battles were fought), you figure that some of the soldiers died here. A few months after moving in, we hardly went in our basement. We noticed a light on because we have a cat door on the basement door. So we shut the light off, and went back up the stairs.

The next day the light was on again. This occured for weeks. Then it all stopped. A few days ago, my father was working in the basement in his office he had built. Everyone else was asleep. He said he thought he heard mens voices clear as day. He didnt know what they were saying. He looked around the house and saw we were all in bed, and the doors were all locked, and there was no one in the house. Well tonight is February 17. 9:57 PM. Aproximately 9:12 PM I heard a man talking with another man. No one is home but me. I made sure an hour before that all the doors were locked tight, and the alarm system was on. Clear as day a mans voice. It was as if he was in the same room, or on the same level. It sounded as if he was talking to another man. I doubt he was talking to me. I was watching a Horror movie at the time, and I had it kind of loud, I turned it down, and heard the voice. I muted it, and the voice stopped 3 seconed after I pushed mute.

My mother doesnt believe it, but I told my dad I believed him based on this experience. Any thoughts of who it or they are please contact me!
