My Grandma Bertie's Land

My great grandma Bertie died when i was 2 years old. I don't remember her much but i can remember what she looks like. Her house that was built in the late 1800's was right beside my grandmothers house (Bertie's daughter), and when the house was too old to live in, she bought a trailer and moved it in right beside the house. She lived there until she died. When i was 4 years old, my parents bought the trailer from my great uncle (her son). The old house still stood there and me and my cousins always went in there to play.
One day, we were in the living room of the house and were playing with some jax and we heard someone talking and we knew it wasn't our parents because they were all inside our trailer. My cousin went in one of the bedrooms and came out looking really pale and said that he saw an old man in there. We ran out of the house and went and told my grandmother about it and she said that it was just her father, who had died way before we were born mind you. That freaked us out and we rarely went back in that house.
Now, there was a ton of woods behind our house and my dad had cut trails in it, the catawba river is like right behind there and we decided to go throw rocks in the river. We finally got down there and started playing like usual and my cousin holly screamed (she was only like 4 years old then, we were older)we looked up and she was pointing across the river and we saw a woman in an old timey dress getting water out of the river with a pail. We took off running and didn't look back lol.
Now i never liked our trailer because everytime that it would rain or storm, it sounded like someone was walking on the roof and i always ran to my parents room and slept beisde their bed on the floor when it stormed. I was about 6 years old when this happened, it was storming one night and everyone was asleep but me. I was fixing to get up and go to my parents room and i looked up and there was a white figure in my doorway. I froze solid and just kept looking. The figure moved closer and i saw who it was, it was my Grandma Bertie. She came and sat beside my bed and told me to lay down and close my eyes, that everything was ok and that i didn't need to be affraid of storms, that they were gods music. So i laid back down and she rubbed my face, and i remember that vividly because her hand was so warm, but i thought it would be cold since she was a ghost. I fell asleep and slept like a baby that night. The next morning i told my parents about it and my dad said that he had been in the house alone one day and heard someone walking down the hall and he looked and saw her, other times he heard cabinets open and close and heard someone washing dishes and everytime, he saw her plain as day. It's kinda creepy but cool to, i wasn't scared after that, i just told myelf that it was my relatives there to protect me.
