Dream or Reality?

One night I was in my room trying to fall asleep. I was going to a vocal contest the next day and I was very nervous about it. I was coming down with an awful cold and I did not want to screw up my solo.
So anyway I was lying in my bed, staring at the ceiling, when I heard this sound coming from the other end of my bedroom. At first I was scared thinking it was some burglar coming in the window or something, but I saw a light appear in the corner of my room near my mirror. I got up to see if there was a car outside the window with its headlights on but there was nothing. I turned and looked at the light in the corner and it seemed to slowly fill the room. I walked towards my mirror and looked in it. There was a man there who seemed to be the one lighting up the room with his glow, even though he wore all black. He held a rose in his right hand and a shiny golden ball in his left hand. He told me that he had been watching over me and he would always be right behind me (which scared me a little, but he had a kind voice). He had scars on the right side of his face, which made me think he was a ghost at first. He gave me the golden ball and told me to keep it with me. I took it from his hand, which was cool like water. He then disappeared, or dissolved, sorta, into the darkness. I went back to my bed and set the ball on my dresser. I fell asleep right away.
I woke up the next morning and got ready to go to the contest, and I noticed that my throat was clear, and my cold was gone. I was about to go out the door when I felt like I forgot something, so I went upstairs, and I saw this golden ball and took it with me. I got a state award at the contest. I feel that the man in the mirror was my guardian angel and I thank him everyday because I know he is always right behind me.
