A Demon and a Ghost

In 2000 I purchased an older home in Florida. While buying this home I had found that it had been bought and sold every two years or less since 1978. I had purchased the home from an older lady who had just bought the house 6 months before. She seamed eager to move out and head back to upstate New york.

After I moved in I spoke with neigbors who mentioned that the previous owner was very friend when she moved in but then became reclusive and a heavy drinker. I thought nothing of it. I moved into the home with my then Girlfriend. We had been together for 3 years and were looking forward to marriage. She loved the home..

As part of my job I was required to leave town for a week at a time. Durring those times my girlfriend claimed she could not sleep and saw what she claimed were ghosts. I told here it probaly had to do with stress and me not being with here in this new home. 6 Months went by and she began to act not like herself. Very Withdrawn, drinking heavily and depressed, I became worried.

I restructred my job duties to allow me more time at home. It was about two weeks later that she had a complete nervous breakdown. She insisted that she move out and go back to California. I tried to support her but it did not matter. She left and I was all alone in the house.

I became depressed and drank alittle heavier than usual. This is when I began to see things that I did not believe in. It began with simple taps on my shoulders and the whispering of my name. This would ussualy occur in my sleep and I would turn over and think I was imagining things. Then I began to hear my name and when opening my eyes feel a electrical charge throughout my whole body and I could not make a noise. I would see electrical flashes as if I was actualy being electricuted. This went on 2-3 times a week. I began to drink heavier at night to avoid these experiences.

Than I saw the worst. I woke up at 3:03 AM. In the corner of the room was a shimery shadow of a person. It was like a person except I could see through them. The thing ran from the far side of the room and right towards me. I satup out of bed and then I saw its face. The face was Demon like and the eyes were red and yellow. I had no light switch to grab so I picked up the closest object to me. As I grabbed the Alarm Clock I ripped it out of the wall and through it at red evil face. This did nothing.. The face and eyes came closer to mine. My last thought was to turn on the light. The closest light was the fan which had a string hanging down to turn it on. I leaped up swinging at this evil being as I grabbed the fan switch the evil face clashed with my face. Eye to Eye I screamed and then it vanished into thin air. I sat with the light on looking at the damage I had done to my room. I did not sleep that night.

I drank very heavy for the next week as to keep me asleep. Then exactly one week later it happened again. Only this time I could not move to stop it. It hovered above me and I felt electrical forces on my body. This lasted about 3 Minutes. When it dissaperead I turned the light on and cryed out of fear and Violation. I spoke with one of my Catholic friends and he began to pray for me. Everything was fine for about three months. In this time my 2 cousins moved in with me. I had warned them of the Demon/ghost. They did not believe me but they were about to experience other ghostly apparations. The tapping started 3 weeks or so after they all moved in. I would admit to it but they would brush it off as a dream they had. Imagine 3 guys in thier mid twenties all single and like to party. We started to invite many people over and drinking was prevalent. It felt good to have people around and I felt like the house was a great home.

One by one each of us began to experience 2-3 different ghostly visits. One was a ghost that would only show themselves in the living room. He was a glowing goldish ghost of a man hovering 2' or so above the floor. He would only apear when someone slept on the couch. He was not bothersome but became a joke.

The second was an Old lady. She like to tapp on our shoulder while asleep. When you turned to look up all that was visible was a floating whitish head with long flowing hair. She would smile than fly off through the house. It was more annoying than anything.

Then there was the Demon like ghost that would show itself to me and my youngest cousin.

It was once a month or so that one of us would be awaken by this. We all thought we were imaginging these things and perhaps the partying had some affect on us. Then it happened. I awoke to a tap on my shoulder.. I turned around to see the old lady. Her smile turned to an evil frown and she quickly flew off toward and through the door. Then the Demon/Ghost showed itself.. I heard my cousing scream.. He had been sleeping down the hallway in the back bedroom... I jumped out of my bed to avoid the demon/ghost and ran towards the door. Then I heard my cousing yelling from the living room couch. He had been a unbeliever and always thought it was just a dream. I ran out of my room with the demon/ghost chasing me. I then saw the old lady and the goldish looking ghost hovering above my cousing in the living room. I felt the demon/ghost chasing me close to my neck. I hit the light switches and all the hallway and living room lights came on. They all dissaperaed. All three of us stood there trying to understand what had just happened.

The next day I went to the city records department and researched the homes history. Their had been three person who had died in the home over the years. One had been a very violent death the other of old age and cancer. I put the house up for sale in 2004 and since then the house has sold 3 times. Each one of those times the house would sit empty for months after familys had moved in and suddenly moved out.

Since moving out I have had only one experience and would like to keep it that way. The other night I woke up to a tapping on my shoulder and this time it was a old lady in her 80's next to bed. She looked as real as you and me. She had a very pale complexion and did not move or say anything. I screamed louder than ever before. I think mostly this was bringing back previous memories that I thought were over. I had to put my hand through her to reach for the light switch next to my bed. I struggled to turn the lights on and then she was gone. The dog went crazy running up and down the hallway. My roomate ran into the room. He thought I was being attaked by the noise. I sat there barely catching my breath. Sweat pouring down my face... Has it started again. I have been sleeping on the couch and since then will only go to my room to change clothes.
