Unknown Presence

My house has always been a scary place. It is not very old, but it
is steeped with mystery nonetheless. Firstly, my home is in a very well
to do area, the homes are expensive and there is an extensive waiting
list to get in. So I found it very odd that the house was very
available and very cheap. I had spoken with a few neighbors about my
home, I was curious as to their response. The home had been vacant for
over two years with a few families occuping it for a month or two and
then abruptly leaving with no explanation. Not good news to an
adolescent girl who had watched way too many horror flicks, but things
didn't really get weird until college.
Certain events had happend in highschool but they soon became common
place. The timer on the stove would go off around 3 am. This timer took
force to set off and the furthest in advance it could be set off was an
hour. Tired of being woken up we put duct tape on the switch...
sometimes the tape would be torn off in the morning. My friends had
thought I was behind them an no one was there, volume changing on TV's,
blue lights wandering through the front halls, the classics. But when I
got back from college is when things get scary and fast.
My roomate and I had discussed my house. She sensed the same
"presence" in the same area, and both of us felt like... it could be
worse than a ghost. Black marks would appear on the walls. The buzzer
still went off, and the stove (and only the stove) suddenly became
infested with mice. Mice were not present anywhere else in the house.
My mom and were in the kitchen talking when a heard a shaking noise. My
mom thinks I'm paranoid and pays no attention to my paranormal
ramblings. A large vase filled with flowers shook again, I saw it and
my mother asked what the noise was. I pointed to the vase, it shook
again and even my mother was scared this time. She said a mouse
probably crawled into vase. I took it outside to empty it, no mouse.
Meanwhile the presence in my room got stronger, it felt as though
someone was staring me in the face. I would sleep in the TV room and
meander into my bedroom once it got a little bit light outside. It was
6 am, I got into bed, closed my eyes... something was breathing on my
face. I could hear the low gasps, the wet and sticky breath of the
unknown. I opened my eyes.. nothing was there. Then I heard footsteps
running back and forth across my floor. Needless to say, I'm not just
afraid of the dark anymore.
