Miracle by the Virgin Mary

As told to me by my grandmother and her cousins, my mother at nine years old was blind for a whole year. She was examined by Doctors and my Grandma was told by the Doctors my mother did not have diabetes. Other possibilities were explored but somehow nothing worked. She was stone blind.

My grandmother was a devout catholic and believed in Miracles. She prayed to the Virgin Mary for a healing and was answered one morning by a vision of the Virgin Mary herself inside the mosquito net. She was givin instructions to tell my grandfather fetch this man from Samar island and this man will have the cure for my mothers blindness.

Believe it or not, my grandfather did not question my grandmothers request. He went willingly and true to the instructions givin my grandma, the man did exist and said the Virgin Mary appeared to him in a dream the night before and told him to help this little girl get back her sight.

Upon reaching my grandmothers village, he requested for a solid black chicken and some firewood. He said some prayers in an unknown language and burned the chicken to ashes. He was praying the whole time. He then produced a small bottle of liquid that looked like oil to the observers and mixed it with the chicken ashes and rubbed it on my mothers eyes.

More strange prayers were said then he instructed my grandparents to wash the ashes with water drawn from the well. Miracles of all miracles. My mother regained her sight back in a flash.

When my folks turned around to thank this man from Samar island, he was nowhere to be found and the island folks from Samar never heard of this man. My grand mother just knew he was an angel sent by the Virgin Mary to manifest that miracle. There were a lot of witnesses to this miracle.

I am now fifty one years old and no one can tell me that faith, no matter what faith you believe in cannot produce miracle. My grand mother was a praying woman.
