Hauntings or Paranoia?

This experiance has happened to both me and my father. I would wake up in the middle of the night for no particular reason and see a figure by the bedroom door, now at first this didnt scare me. But after seeing it every night since then i notified my father. He had prayed, and told me i would never see it again, and i didnt.

But soon afterwards my father tells me he hears someone running up the stairs at night around 2 to 3 in the morining. This creeped me out a little, but soon forgeting it i let it go.

Then about 2 or 3 days ago, i was sitting at the computer, i had just looked at the clock it was 2:30 am...not thinking anything of it, a couple minutes later i hear a loud stomping on the stairs...first ignoring it it gets faster, i turn around, instantly alert. It continued until it got to the top of the stairs...and nothing.

Now before this also...i would be home alone, downstairs just sitting on the couch and i will hear someone walking up stairs, now my house creaks ALOT, so i know when someone is walking upstairs. But being a skepting at that time i ignored it. Hauntings?...or paranoia?
