The Face in the Doorway

Single Encounter
When I was roughly 16, my friend invited me over to her side-house apartment to spend the night. She was a care-taker for an elderly woman and the apartment was in the side of the house connecting to the main portion of it. As we were sitting in her room one night, I felt the need to run to the restroom. Through the restroom was a door leading into the main house. I opened the door to the restroom and managed to be alright, even though the lights kept blinking on and off.
Later on, my friend said that she needed to go check on the lady and asked me to come with her. As we went through the bathroom into the main house, she continued on while I tried to find my footing. I stepped up into the main house and, after looking down momentarily, looked up to see an old, shriveled and pale face screaming towards me. The face looked like an old man/woman with long silver hair and white eyes. The face was very angry and almost demonic in expression.
It scared me so badly that I fell back and
almost slipped into the bathroom. I refused to take another step until
she came and turned on the lights. She looked around and, finding
nothing wrong, told me to come on through once she'd turned on the
lights. That
one experience has haunted me to this day.
