Confederate Ghost
From: () Story type: Ghost Location: Fredericksburg, Virginia Source: Form Submission
My Dad bought part of the Civil War battle field in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He built a house on that land and our first night in the house, we heard a man playing Dixie on the banjo. My Dad got up and went downstairs to investigate but there was no one in the house and all the doors were locked. For the rest of the night it was silent and quiet. The following night around 3AM in the morning my Dad woke up with a feeling of someone in his room. He said it looked like a confederate soldier with a rifle in his hand. The ghost pointed the gun at my Dad's nose.
We are originally from Connecticut and we are aware that Southerners
don't like Northerners because they lost the Civil War. My Dad said the
gun barrel felt real when it touched his nose. It smelled like burnt
gun powder. He thought he was being robbed but when he finally got out
of bed, the confederate spirit had vanished. I think my Dad's new house
is haunted because it was built on land where the battle of
Fredericksburg actually took place.
