The Smashed Window

My room has three small windows on it's north wall. These windows have two panes of glass each - an inner one and an outer one. Last night, as I went to sleep, I heard a curious scratching noise on this wall. In the morning, a loud noise awakened me. I looked around and discovered that one of my windows was broken. A long sliver ran through it, along with many small ones, and a chunk of the window was gone. I called my dad and he said that it was probably just a rock some body threw at it. But on closer inspection, I discovered that only the inner pane was broken, while the outer pane was unharmed. I would not have been strong enough to break this glass. Something - or someone - broke this window from inside my room. It's scary to think what might have done it.
