Sam

My wife and I live in a small house that was built in the 1930's. My
wife has lived here for the majority of her life. When we got married
and I moved in with her and her three small children, she shared this
story with me about her childhood friend named Sam.
She always believed that Sam was an apparition of a young girl. Sam
has never spoken to my wife, but she seemingly never minded the name.
She would visit my wife from time to time and my wife never got the
impression that the little girl meant her any harm.
I was intrigued by the stories from my wife's childhood, as I have
always been a believer in the paranormal. It wasn't until I moved in
here that I saw evidence of Sam's existence.
One night my wife was out with the children and I was at home alone
doing some work on my computer. While I was typing away a couple of
sheets of paper that had been neatly stacked on the top of my computer
desk flew of the shelf hitting me in the head. Completely stunned by
this I didn't know what to make of it. I told my wife about it when she
returned home and she merely shook her head in approval. Her only reply
was, "I told you she lived here."
On another occasion I was locking up the house before going to bed.
Her children were gone for the weekend to their dad's house. I usually
try to straighten the house up before bed as to not break my neck on my
way to work on Saturdays. The children have little plastic chairs that
they like to sit in while watching tv around the coffee table. I
distinctly remember stacking the chairs and setting them off to the
side in a corner. The next morning as I walked through the living room
on my way out the door, I glanced across the room and stopped dead in
my tracks. Two of the chairs had been unstacked and neatly placed
directly in front of the television. Later that day when I called my
wife, (knowing my habits of straightening up) she asked why I had
placed the chairs in such a manner when the children wouldn't return
until Sunday. I told my wife that I didn't do it, Sam had to have done
it. My wife replied, "Now do you fully believe me?"
I have become resolved to the fact that along with my wife and my
three step-children, as well as my own two daughters who stay with me
every other weekend, I also live with the spirit of young little girl
named Sam. She never seems intent to cause harm, only to remind us of
her presence. I believe that it makes her feel somewhat normal to be
considered and acknowleged as part of the household. I have no
knowledge of the history of this house or even if a little girl has
died here. I'm truly eager to find out.
