Floating Eyes
From: Eric42 (eric42@eric42.org) Story type: Ghost Location: My old house Source: Form Submission
The old house that my family used to live in was a big old house. Only a single story, but it was wide-spread. We moved into the house when I was only six or seven years old. At first, nothing ever happened to me in this house, but this changed one night.
My brother and I slept in bunk-beds, with me taking the top bunk, being the youngest. At the time of this story, the bunk beds were positioned right next to the door, which led into the hallway. One night, when my brother was staying the night at my sister's apartment, I was of course sleeping alone in my bedroom, with my bedroom door standing wide open. Up until this night, I had been sleeping with the bedroom door open. I had preferred it that way for some reason.
In the middle of the night, I woke up. I have never remembered why, or if there was even a reason. First thing I realized upon waking, though, that it was ice cold. Now, I was under a blanket or two but I still felt very cold. Well, I stirred in my bed and suddenly, I noticed a motion that wasn't my own. What it looked like to me was a small hand with just three fingers zooming back into the hallway. From the direction I remember it moving in, it may have been reaching for me but I am not sure.
I noticed this movement, but at the moment, I wasn't scared. In fact, I remember believing it was one of my parents. Of course, none of the facts I mentioned above had sunken in yet either. Almost daringly, I looked out into the hallway. What I saw scares me today when I think about it. I saw a pair of eyes. That's all I saw. No body for them to be on, or anything; just a pair of eyes. They glowed a very light blue color. I called out softly "Who's there?" and got no answer. Waiting a few moments, I said "Very funny", closed the door, and turned back to sleep.
I slept fine, but the next morning, I said something to my parents that
their joke wasn't funny and when they questioned what I meant, I told
them what happened to me. They dismissed it to being a dream, but I am
very well aware it wasn't a dream.
