River of Lights

In February 1996 I was very sick with a respiratory infection and was in the ICU. I was hooked up to a cardiac monitor and had IV's going with respiratory medications infusing. I remember drifting towards sleep and I heard children's laughter and I became aware of lights of all different colors. I remember standing on my bed and looking out as if I was on a river bank and the river was made of lights. The voices of laughter came from the lights and I wanted to be a part of that. I jumped off my bed and became one with all the other lights. Just then three nurses came in making all kinds of racket, fiddling with the monitor and leads that were attached to my body. I didn't say anything. I wanted to go back to where I had been but it never happened again. In the morning I asked a nurse if anything happened to me during the night, and she said I had an episode of tachacardia (fast heart beat. I wonder what this was? If anyone knows or has experienced anything like this, please E-mail me. It was not a religious experience, but it has changed my life. My doctor scoffed, when I told him I thought I had an out of body experience or a near death experience. He said I was just hallucinating. I know I wasn't. I'd love to hear from anyone who has had something like this.
