Graveyard Hitchiker: New Mexico, land of enchantment, this is certainly true! Back in 1986 my husband and I were visiting my father in law in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Late one night we decided to take an a daring trip to the oldest graveyard located on the outskirts of town. We were talking and walking on the dead wondering if something exciting would really happen. As we walked the foggy mist on the old, suken graves seemed to seep out. The graveyard was so old, the coffins of the poor who were buried there, collapsed under the weight of time. After about an hour of nothing, we got in the car to leave. To our disappointment, we got back on the dirt road and headed towards the highway.
At the intersection of the dirt road and highway stood what
seemed to be a slighly slouching woman in need of a ride. It was late
and there were no houses around for a few miles so we decided to ask if
she needed any help. As soon as my husband opened the door to let her
in, he immediately shut the door quicker than I'd ever seen him move!
He yelled for me to get the !*!*! out of there. He kept yelling that he
couldn't see her face. As I stepped on the gas more, we saw a figure on
all fours running next to the car! I knew I didn't want to look, but it
just happend. Right next to my window I saw her slowly turn her head to
face me. To my disbeleif there was no face starring at me only an empy,
eerie feeling as I put the pedal to the medal. In the rearview mirror,
we could see her falling further and further behind until we could't
see her at all. We have since then agreed to not be such thrill
seekers, at least not in old graveyards late at night.
